Important Information as BCC Prepares to Re-Open
With the curling season approaching, the Executive, at its meeting on August 24, 2020 discussed at length, the impact to BCC resulting from Covid-19.
A Committee was appointed to review and make recommendations as to how the provincial requirements would be addressed within our Club. Linked at the bottom of this post you will find a copy of the current recommendations as well as the latest information provided by the Nova Scotia Curling Association, which can be found at: https://nscurl.com/return-to-play-plan-questions-answers/ Of note is that we are currently in Phase 3. As this situation can potentially change, please note this is not the final recommendation but is being shared with our members to illustrate how the return to play may look.
The Executive also reviewed the financial impact if membership should significantly decrease, and it had been determined a minimum of 100 members is required to open the doors this year. With that, we are moving registration dates to Friday, September 4 and Tuesday September 8 at 7 pm to confirm the number of members who are returning. Once that has been determined, an opening date will be set and communicated to everyone. To the contrary, the club will remain closed for the season. Please be aware that the dates currently shown on the registration form are considered to be tentative.
For your convenience, we are also attaching the registration form for the 2020 – 2021 curling season and look forward to your return. For your information, should the club open and be forced to close, a refund of membership dues will be prorated and returned to members.
Now, more than ever, our commitment to the Bridgewater Curling Club is key and as always, any member of the Executive is available for questions or concerns.
