Rules of the Buzzer

The following “Buzzer” rule was implemented at Bridgewater Curling Club several years ago in an effort to speed up play by those teams who are traditionally slow so that teams on the ice after them start at their alloted time.

In an 8 end game, the buzzer will sound after one and one half hours. In a 6 end game, the buzzer will sound after one hour.

If the buzzer sounds before the completion of an end, the teams can finish that end and complete one more end.

If the final stone of an end is being thrown by the skip but the skip has not released the curling stone, then that end is completed plus one more end.

If the final stone of an end is being thrown by the skip and the skip has clearly released the stone from his hand, two more ends can be completed. It does not matter that the final stone is in motion when the buzzer is sounded.

THE BUZZER!!!
Be it known that thou that doust not follow the buzzer rules shall test the wrath of thy ice technician.

(not to mention those that wait for the next match)
