Junior Curling

Our junior program is dedicated to introducing young athletes, aged 5 and up, to the exciting world of curling in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to enhance their skills, our tailored age groups and expert coaching ensure a positive and enriching experience.

Our Program

We’re dedicated to nurturing young talent through a comprehensive and engaging approach. Our program is tailored to three age groups:

Ages 5-7 Ages 8-10 Ages 11+

Each group benefits from a mix of skill instruction, specialized drills, curling games, and fun activities designed to keep young athletes active, engaged, and excited about curling.

Comprehensive Skill Development

Our curriculum focuses on:

  • Individual Skills: Mastering safety, rules, etiquette, balance, delivery, and weight control.
  • Specialized Drills: Targeted exercises to enhance specific aspects of curling.
  • Fun Activities: Interactive games and challenges that make learning enjoyable.
  • NSCA Badge Program: Young curlers earn badges as they progress through various development stages.

Competitive Opportunities

  • Provincial Competitions: Participate in events organized by the Nova Scotia Curling Association, including the prestigious Light Rock Jamboree for our youngest athletes.

  • Financial Assistance: We strive to support our teams and coaches financially, ensuring every young curler has the opportunity to compete.

Season-End Celebrations

Celebrate your curling journey with us:

  • Christmas Party (December): Enjoy the famous “Turkey Toss” and festive activities.
  • Year-End Party (March): Skate and celebrate on the last day before the ice is removed, marking the end of a successful season.
